We are delighted to announce that we have received funding from the Big Lottery Fund for our programme “Village Connections” The aim of this project is to provide a capacity building programme to support women at different stages of their lives and to provide opportunities for generations to connect and learn from each other in our changing community. Information and linkages will be made with specialist agencies to widen support networks for participants e.g. Advice services, Sure start. The programme will run during term time from September for 30 wks., with activity sessions for the Mummy’s together group and our senior Women’s Groups; the Darby group and the Golden Girls. The programme of activities has been designed by participants and will include non-traditional skills, D.I.Y techniques and creative crafts. Sharing knowledge and skills between generations is a key feature of the programme and we will be holding intergenerational events to celebrate the contribution women make to this community and to strengthen and forge new bonds between the generations.
